About Us

Eicor Resources Ltd was founded by Mike Neilson, a Christchurch business consultant, in 1986. He soon found that client companies needed to keep a closer eye on their financial performance in order to survive. A computerised accounting system was vital, so Mike began selling and supporting Profax accounting software which was being developed in Christchurch at the time. The company also began providing accounting services to clients who did not want to set up their own computer accounts systems.

QuickBooks was added to the company stable in 1998, as the need was identified for a smaller accounting package suitable for small owner-operated businesses. The IMS payroll software was added in 2001 when we saw a need for a payroll which would interface easily with both Profax and Quickbooks accounting software packages.

In 2003, Profax introduced their new accounting packages, Accredo Mercury for small to medium businesses, and Accredo Saturn for larger companies and we have been involved in upgrading several of our clients to these packages including the writing of specialised scripts to customise their systems.

Our client base is diversified, including aged care facilities, property development, manufacturing, wholesaling, tourism, engineering, and non-profit organisations.

Eicor's Team

Sue Spindler

Sue Spindler joined the company in 1989, bringing with her proven experience in using Profax, and 11 years office and accounts experience in both local body and private company offices. From 1991 to 2001, Sue managed the company on Mike's behalf and she purchased the business from him in August 2001. She is a qualified Profax and Accredo support person and also a QuickBooks accredited trainer. She spends a lot of her time at clients' offices providing accounts assistance, Profax, Accredo and QuickBooks training and support. Sue enjoys the contact this brings with a wide variety of people and businesses, and the satisfaction gained from improving the efficiency, usefulness and reliability of clients accounting systems.

Daphne Marshall

Daphne Marshall joined the team in 1998. At that time her 17 years of accounts and office administration experience had been wide ranging, in a variety of different industries. Daphne is an experienced Profax and Accredo user, and she provides the accounts, payroll and administration services for clients at our office base in 11D Carlyle Street, Sydenham. She is also our payroll expert being familiar with both IMS and Ace Payroll systems.

Kelvin Smyth

Kelvin Smyth joined Eicor's staff in 2007. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accountancy, and works mostly in our Carlyle Street office providing accounting and administration services for our clients. During the rugby season Kelvin is a regular supporter at AMI Stadium.




Ken Richards

Ken Richards joined the Eicor team in 2010. Ken has worked in the business software industry for many years and operated a successful software development company in Palmerston North. Much of Kens technical experience has been gained using Unix and Linux operating systems and relational databases such as Informix, MySQL and Oracle. More recently, he took time out to own and operate a musical instrument store in Nelson for 10 years before moving to Christchurch. Apart from his musical interests, Ken is keen diver, frustrated golfer and general sports lover.
